IP Rotation

When you connect to Aluvia, your traffic is routed through mobile IP addresses. IP rotation refers to changing the mobile IP address through which your traffic is routed.

How to Rotate your IP Address

Sticky Sessions Disabled

If sticky sessions are disabled (you are not using the -session parameter in your Aluvia Gateway Node username), IP rotation occours by default. Each request is routed to a different IP addresss.

Sticky Sessions Enabled

If sticky sessions are enabled (you are using the -session parameter in your Aluvia Gateway Node username), then you rotate your IP by changing your session ID. Each time you change your session ID, you will get a different ID.

Benefits

  • Enhanced Anonymity: Makes it harder to track user activity across requests
  • Load Distribution: Spreads requests across multiple proxy servers
  • Bypass Rate Limits: Different IPs can help circumvent per-IP rate limiting
  • Geolocation Diversity: Access content from different geographical locations

How Long to IPs Last?

When you rotate your IP address, you will be assigned a new one from the pool of available mobile IP addresses. Because mobile IP addresses are assigned by mobile carriers, we cannot explicitly control how long your new IP address will be available for. You should generally expect the max life of an IP address to be 10 minutes.
